Methodology
SuperCollect’s founders used their experience in organisation advices, design of information systems and ICT from 1976 onwards to develop the SuperCollect system.
The new technological possibilities as Internet and XML as well as the recent developments in the standardisation of software is combined with the knowledge of the working of organisations, design and development of data bases and development of standard software.
So, the design and development of the SuperCollect system is based on:
- Strict distinction between application and data
- All meta data are stored in the database and directly linked to the data itself
- A no nonsense approach and application of e-business with loosely coupled systems
- The use of three layers: the client, middleware and database; all based on Microsoft technology
- The use of an internet server for the operations of the system
- The use of Excel, HTML and a specific form as user interfaces for the client (data provider)
- The use of XML for structuring the questionnaire
- The use of XML for the transport of the data between provider and collector of the data
- The use of open standards to enable software suppliers to link directly to our software
- A thorough approach on security
